"Snakes on a Plane"

Coming this August: Director David B. Ellis (Cellular, Final Destination 2) directs Samuel Jackson in the New Line Cinema epic "Snakes on a Plane"! Couched in secrecy, no one seems to know what this mystery film is about. What we do know is that we made a large number of silicone rubber and animatronic reptile replicas for the film, which will fit into a mix of live and CGI creatures. In 8 grueling weeks, TCS' crew of 30 artists and technicians created scores of slithering synthetic serpents (the CG folks will have had more than a year. Must be nice!). Rick Lazzarini served as Animatronics Supervisor and Chief Puppeteer on the film.

The teaser trailer is on the web now. In it, there are at least two shots of TCS' snakes; one where Sam Jackson is whacking the hell out of a snake near the stairs, and one in which a HUGE snake breaks through a glass lighting fixture. Just a taste, folks! You can fill the time between now and the flick's release by trying to figure out what species each of the above is!
